“Muzika ljeta” (“Summer Music”) is a manifestation that tends to present diverse Mediterranean musical tradition of Budva and Montenegro. It is organised as a whole-summer musical programme held during June, July, August and September. Namely, the Budva Brass Band opened the Festival by the defile through the Old Town and its ninety-minute concert held at the Square of Poets in the Old Town. There are the most popular Montenegrin vocal groups taking place there – music gangs and folklore ensemblCultural Artistic Society “Kanjoš“, Cultural Artistic Society “Aluminijum”, “Bisernice Boke“, „Harmonija“, „Assa Voce“ and „Castel Nuovo“, who have their musical advent once a week at the Square of Poets in the Old Town, at the plateau in front of the “Aleksandar” hotel in Budva and at the plateau in front of the “Palas“ hotel in Petrovac. There is always a great interest shown for their musical advents, especially by foreign audience, since they express a part of the authentic Montenegrin heritage and they present it in a new, modern way that entirely suits the spirit of nowadays, and point out values worth preserving and keeping as a part of one’s own cultural identity.
