Budva - an ancient, seaside town - is hiding its rich historical heritage. The origin of the town is in 5th Century BC. By many legends and local traditions Budva was originally the town of the Encheleans and the Illyrians whom the Phoenician King Cadmus conquered. Its first citizens were Cadmus - the only man who married a goddess, and who gave literarcy to the Greeks - and his wife Harmonia, the daughter of Greek gods Ares and the Aphrodita. |
